Next week easter. For me Easter is “brunch and/or asparagus time”. A few weeks ago, I wrote “how to set the table in style” so this week I will write more about how to set the easter table.

What to use
How do you create the Easter atmosphere? You do not have to buy everything new. But think about slight changes with things you already have at home.
I prefer natural and neutral products. Eggs, of course, are part of Easter. They can easily be adapted to the atmosphere of the table. Color the eggs with nature products like beet, spinach or turmeric. With these products you have a red, green and yellow color palette in subtle shades. For some inspiration have a look at Eyeswoon
Flowers or plants, just from your garden or a walk in the neighborhood can elevate the décor of the table. The willow catkins (Salix Caprea) are silvery white to pale yellow in color, so suitable for Easter and (in the Netherlands) easy to find.
Vases, candlelights, china, dinnerware, tablelinens
Color is key. Spring brings more light and more sun. Both spring and Easter represent new life, which is why yellow is the color of Easter. But if this does not fit your color scheme at all, use those colors in a toned-down form. We have one tradition: we use the Royal Doulton Bunnykins children’s tableware for the chocolate easter eggs!

It is not my style to decorate my home all over. But of course, you can start at the front door and decorate every room. For me, the table and some violets in the garden are sufficient.
