To follow up the\u00a0blog about my reading nook<\/a>\u00a0I want to tell you more about the latest four interior design books I bought.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do not know if you noticed but my latest article about my reading nook was posted a while ago! We have been working on the back end of the website. Therefore I am excited to be back again and share latest ideas. Hopefully this year not only Travel blogs with \u201clooking forward by looking back\u201d but also travelling again after Covid-19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Live Beautiful by Athena Calderone<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The picture from a kitchen on Pinterest, the Brooklyn townhouse featured in Architectural Digest and the collaboration with Zara home drew my attention to Athena Calderone\u2019s website EyeSwoon<\/a>. I love the style because of the combination of creating a modern vibe with character pieces.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This book shows her own interiors and the ones designed by other international interior decorators, like Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent. So, it is not just one style where you can read about but more carefully crafted interiors this results in a broad spectrum of inspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\nBeautiful design is not just pleasant to look at; it improves the quality of our lives.<\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

What I like about the book is the structure. With each homeowner, Calderone explores the initial spark of inspiration that incited their design journey. She then breaks down the details of the rooms\u2014like layered textures and patterns, collected pieces, and customized vignettes\u2014and offers helpful tips on how to bring these elevated elements into your own space. Filled with gorgeous photography by Nicole Franzen, Live Beautiful<\/em> is both a showpiece of exquisite design and a guide to creating a home that is thoughtfully put together.<\/p>\n\n\n

Nordic Moods by Katrine Martensen-Larsen<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Danish interior designer Katrine Martensen-Larsen<\/a> invites you inside nine inspirational and varied Nordic homes, sharing her best tips along the way, such as the valuable art of restraint. Helped by mood boards – a practical visual association tool – you learn to prioritize and discover Nordic style and interior design. Katrine also shows you how to create a personal and harmonious home. Nordic Moods is richly illustrated by photographer Kira Brandt\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you embrace a Scandinavian style this book gives inspiration to create your own mood board in this style.<\/p>\n\n\n

Items & Interiors by Bea Mombaers<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Interior stylist Bea Mombaers<\/a> is passionate about vintage and design. She is always on the lookout for special finds and unique objects. Over time she developed a distinctive signature style. This book presents Bea’s work and universe as seen through the lenses of different photographers. The photos show interiors arranged by Bea, but also intriguing details, beautiful still life’s and objects with a story Bea feels inspired by. The photos are presented according to the key moments in a day: waking up, breakfast, break, lunch, coffee, apero, dinner and party. Bea is a source of inspiration and interior dreams, and a personal view on Bea Mombaers’s world and her favorite projects up to now.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Different from the first two mentioned books because the interiors are not described. That is why this book is especially suitable as a source of inspiration. But if you want an explanation of how to do this yourself you will need a different kind of book. (advantage: language is unimportant!).<\/p>\n\n\n

Hare + Klein by Meryl Hare<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Distinguished by their aesthetic of understated luxury and attention to fine detail, design firm Hare + Klein<\/a> is synonymous with uncompromisingly comfortable, liveable interiors made exceptional by pitch-perfect styling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like the Australian view on living. Using Pinterest, I noticed that of lot of the pins I loved were from Australian designers. So, I was looking for an interesting interior book and found this book about the Hare + Klein interiors. In this book the floor plans and mood boards will give inspiration and will help you creating your own interior. Pay special attention because of the makers to rugs form Nepal and authentic Australian art.<\/p>\n\n\n
