Monday Mood board – Beach House – Coastal

You might recognize this mood board. I wrote about it before in the blog How to make an interior design mood board“. In this Monday Mood board – Beach House – Coastal more information to inspire you.

The space

The space was incredibly special, a “water house” for Stichting Vaarkracht. A boat to sail from A to B and then at the place where it is moored for a few weeks, space is provided for cancer patients to enjoy the calm atmosphere on the water for a day. I was involved from the start to help with the interior.

The Style

The starting point for Vaarkracht: clean lines, calm, it is a “water house” so linked to the water but not an Ibiza beach vibe. Comfortable but also with a table suitable for a business event. The first thing I did was create a mood board.

Key elements

We focused on several key elements like:

Remarks to the mood board:

Black side tables, black to give the room some spice and movable furniture that allow for easy reconfiguration as needed.

Color Palette

The color palette is inspired by water and the color of the organization Vaarkracht. Think Vaarkracht blue (RAL5007), light grey, soft blues, sandy beige, and crisp whites.  Coastal accents and decor elements that nod to the water house setting without being overly beachy, like the coral (no real coral because that is protected), a vase in blue, related artwork, and a nautical telescope for the final addition.
